A photographer is a person who takes photographs using a camera. A professional photographer uses photography to make a living whilst an amateur photographer does not earn a living and typically takes photographs for pleasure and to record an event, place or person for future enjoyment.
Photographers are often categorized based on the subjects they photograph. Some photographers explore subjects typical of paintings such as landscape, still life, and portraiture. Other photographers specialize in subjects unique to photography, including street photography, documentary photography, fashion photography, wedding photography, war photography, photojournalism and commercial photography.
Paparazzi are photographers who take candid photographs of celebrities.

While watching the documentary it enlightens me what really a photographers in my favorite magazine and cable channels do. They are really amazing and every photos, every moments that they capture really stun me...
I remember when I was in Cebu, after a photowalk with my buddies in cebuphoto (the theme was Urban Formula and Unseen Metropolis of Cebu) my friend asked me this question. "What are you trying to say about this photograph?" The Question hovers in my subconscious with every image I pursue, and it influence every action I take to create a photograph.
To me, "What are you trying to say about this photograph?" is the most fundamental of all questions regarding creative photography and it is still the driving force behind my photographs.
Nature and outdoor photographers want to share the beauty of a landscape, the drama of light, and the action of a wild life. Travel photographers want to share the faces of culture, a slice of daily life, and a sense of place. Photojournalist want to share the moment or emotional situation before them. We're really after the same thing; to create images that express what we see, feel, and experience in the world around us. Whether we are aiming for artistic interpretation or realism, the common goal is to make our photographs as creative and expressive as possible.
Ansel Adams once said, "We don't make a photograph just with a camera; we bring to the act of photography all the books we have read, the movies we have seen, the music we have heard, the people that we have meet. If you view life through the filters of your experiences, you'll see the world uniquely. If you want to make positive, awe-inspiring images, decide now that you'll have as many awe-inspiring experiences as possible. Look through the filters of good and wonders and you'll see may great things. Then draw from your creative well of experiences when you make your photographs...
cheers and happy shooting!
