Rate the image from 1 to 5 3 What do you think of this image? I love the emotion, facial expression and how you capture her smile. good job! What are your main criticisms? - You over done the vignette... A general guideline with dark vignetting is that you should never have it touch the face or head, which is supposed to be the main focus of any portrait. The face and especially the eyes should be bright and noticeable. I think a light vignette would work on this portrait. - exposure is good but I can see OE on her left shoulder. always check your histogram or your clippings on your camera... If you see a blinking part of your shot that is because you ever exposed what part. What I do in thos kind of tricky situation is I meter the highlights part of my subject then adjust my exposure - destruction, destruction, destruction... Her shoulder and arm somehow destruct the whole image. wait for the right momment, timing is the key on shooting kids specially when they are active. Nailing your exposure involves finding a nice scene, getting into position, reading the light, and making adjustments. Throw in tons of practice and a little luck and you’ve got the makings of some really fantastic photography. cheers happy shooting!
